Veronica Kirin (she/her/hers) is an Anthropologist, Author, and Board President for Stem Greenhouse. Her first business, a nonprofit corporation conducting disaster relief, was founded in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Her latest work, Stories of COVID, is documenting the pandemic in real time for a book for future generations. We talk about “the pivot,” the tendency to panic-pivot, and avoiding over-pivoting. Our conversation also covers:
- Nonprofits rely heavily on private donors (how is that changing).
- What initiatives can nonprofits implement at this time to pivot their work?
- Do virtual fundraising galas work?
- How nonprofits mis-construe their status to hurt their revenue.
