There are 10 million .org domain names. The Internet Society (ISOC) has announced it has sold the rights to the .org registry for an undisclosed sum to a private equity company called Ethos Capital. Earlier this year, ICANN also lifted price caps on .org domains for the next 10 years, paving the way for price increases.
